FR En mai 2022 a été publiée la première captation du trou noir au centre de notre voie lactée, Sagittarius A. Cette image fait suite à celle du trou noir M87, publiée en 2019, qui avait alors été largement commentée et détournée sur les réseaux sociaux. Après tant de représentations spectaculaires des trous noirs, par les illustrations scientifiques ou le cinéma, le public ne s’attendait probablement pas à une image si simple et hermétique. C’est le décalage entre l’imaginaire social des trous noirs et la simplicité de l’image, qui a été le moteur de ces nombreux détournements.

EN In May 2022 was published the first image of the black hole at the center the Milky Way, Sagittarius A. This image followed the one of the black hole M87, published in 2019, which had then been widely commented and appropriated on social media. After so many spectacular representations of black holes, by scientific illustrations or cinema, the public was probably not expecting such a simple and hermetic image. It is the contrast between the social imaginary of black holes and the simplicity of the image, that was the motivation for these many appropriations.
