Ce projet s’inscrit dans le cadre du Festi’Plantes 2025. L’atelier, destiné à un public adulte non-expert, offre la possibilité de découvrir la domestication des plantes alimentaires à travers le maïs. Réalisé en collaboration avec François Bernier, expert en biologie des plantes, l’atelier est divisé en trois objets manipulables. Ils définissent, mettent en lumière les conséquences et les enjeux de cette pratique à la fois ancestrale et moderne. L’atelier vise également à souligner l’absurdité de la domestication des plantes poussée aujourd’hui à son paroxysme. Jusqu’où irons-nous dans la manipulation génétique ? Les objets complètent un discours et servent de moyen pour susciter une conversation entre l’expert et le public.

This project is part of Festi’Plantes 2025. The workshop, aimed at a non-expert adult audience, offers the opportunity to explore the domestication of food plants through corn. Developed in collaboration with François Bernier, an expert in plant biology, the workshop is divided into three manipulable objects. They define and highlight the consequences and the challenges of this ancestral yet modern process. The workshop also aims to underline the absurdity of plant domestication pushed to its extreme today. How far will we go in genetic manipulation ? The objects complement a narrative and serve as a means of sparking conversation between the expert and the public.
