Chaque jour, le dessin. Le dessin pour représenter l’humain parce que les mots ne suffisent pas. Représenter l’humain parce qu’il fascine, en ce sens qu’il est capable de susciter chez nous des émotions dont la nature varie d’un extrême à un autre. Solide et fragile, hideux et beau, influant et invisible…
Je m’intéresse à l’humain comme un ingénieur qui essaie de comprendre le fonctionnement d’une machine, mais aussi comme un peintre qui cherche à capturer et retransmettre la subtilité d’un regard. Cette approche plurivalente, à la fois morphologique et anatomique m’amène à appréhender la question du corps illustré de différents points de vue selon les années et les projets.

Every day, drawing. Drawing to represent the human, as words are not enough. Representing the human because it fascinates, in the sense that it is capable of eliciting emotions in us, the nature of which swings from one extreme to another. Sturdy and fragile, hideous and beautiful, influential and invisible…
I am interested in the human in the same way as an engineer trying to understand how a machine works, but also like a painter seeking to capture and convey the subtlety of a look. This multi-faceted approach, with its twin morphological and anatomical angles, leads me to tackle the question of the illustrated body from different perspectives, depending on the years and projects.
